62% of Americans buy Valentines Day cards. That’s a lot of cards! Hallmark says that the hottest selling card last year and this year in every city is a simple card with a rose. The card states, “Each time I see you, hold you, think of you, here’s what I do…I fall deeply, madly, happily in love with you.” Wow!! Words sure mean a lot as we communicate to the ones we love. I’m Frank Lacey, pastor of Riverside community Church here in Farmville. I’d like to invite you to our series on "Love Languages" starting this Sunday at 10:30. The Riverside Church meets at the movie theater near the Food Lion here in Farmville. Come on out. Hey, check us out on the web at riversidec2.org.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!! To celebrate the season we at Riverside Community Church will begin a series titled "Love Languages" starting this Sunday and continuing through March 12. We will be using Gary Chapman's classic book "THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES" and of course the Bible as our texts. We will be selling the book at church soon. If you don't have it you should add it to your library. This Sunday we will be looking at "Words of Affirmation". I think this would be a great series to attend every Sunday and bring your friends.

As you know, we cancelled services last Sunday, but we still had the Second Sunday Super Supper at the my house. ( I praise God for my wife who loves to entertain.) We had almost as many people as the week before for the Super Bowl Party! We had a lot of fun with snowball fights, sledding, talking, and one individual even slid into the pond (not me this time). If people didn't know better they'd think we like to have fun at Riverside Church. I hope that doesn't offend you.

SPEAKING OF FUN: There was some talk going on this past Sunday about doing a ski trip to Wintergreen on Sunday afternoon. ( That would be this coming Sunday.) If we get 20 interested people the price goes down dramaticly. My suggestion is if we can't get 20 people to put it off until like March 19. Skiing is fun for sure. I hope it works out. We might just have pictures in this blog next week of a ski trip!
  • March 3, 4 - Leadership Retreat at the NEW Hampton Inn here in Farmville. Our speakers will be Erwin McManus, Bill Hybels, and Andy Stanley (via DVD). We'll also have worship and prayer times. It will go from 7:00-9:00p.m. Friday and 9:00a.m.-12:00 noon on Saturday.
  • March 19 - Second Birthday of Riverside Community Church
